IndiGo plane catches fire while landing at TIA

 lll passengers on board were rescued as smoke billowed up from an IndiGo aircraft while landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in the Capital on Saturday afternoon.

Deputy Director at TIA Rescue Coordination Centre Bimalesh Lal Karna told THT Online that as many as 174 passengers were on board the Airbus 320 owned by an Indian private airlines.

Smoke appeared as one of the back wheels of jetplane apparently caught fire upon landing at around 1 pm NST.

All passengers were evacuated through an emergency exit.
